The mine has several mineralogical varieties and qualities of ore, thus making it possible to meet various different demands.

The mining method known as Room & Pillar with caving is used in the IMINI mine. It is a variant of the classic Room and Pillar method which consists of cutting the deposit into networks of drifts to facilitate the pillar robbing operation. The method is very selective producing high grade ore with an average of 73% MnO2 (48% Mn). The tonnage extracted annually is approximately 90,000 Tons.
